Very pleased. I had tried some lightroom plugins but they failed to recognize many duplicates when the timestamp had been updated by import processes. This app allowed me to conmtrol the problem variables and pull over 7000 duplicates out of a 28,000 image lightroom 5 library. There is NO WAY I could have done this manually. So many apps are a let down. It’s nice to find one like this , very inexpensive, that really does a great jobs. Congrats (and thanks) to the developers.

Straight forward interface, easy to understand and use. Works fine with a NAS.

PhotoSweeper does exactly what it says it does. The description doesn’t sound like hype, just matter of fact. However, once you start using it, you realize that the description is actually understated. There is so much flexibility to find similar photos in many different ways and with varying precision. That last bit is very important. I have lots of photos taken around the same time. They’re similar but not duplicates. I also have lots of edited photos. PhotoSweeper lets me find all the various combinations of similar. And it works perfectly with Lightroom. As for support, it is excellent. I recently found a case where some dng files converted from older raw files couldn’t be read. While Lightroom read them, Preview and some other apps would not. I sent some samples to Overmacs and a few weeks later received a test version which resolved the problem. Now that’s service! Update: this latest update includes the fix mentioned above. As well, it includes support for the raw files from my new camera, just like Lightroom.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to, fast, well, and simply. I was pleasantly suprised at just how easy and effective PhotoSweeper was, and how well it integrates with Aperture and Lightroom.

I’m a casual photographer that takes lots of clics (including iPhine HDR’s) for the same shot thinking of selecting the best one later. But most of the times I never get to seat down and really do the selection. So I end up with a huge library full of duplicates (or almost duplicates) of the same shot. So that’s when PhotoSweeper comes handy. WIth this app I can find all the duplicates and all the shots that are so similar that are hard to be set apart. Is not about the app selecting the best shot for you. Is about seleting the duplicates and all those ones that look pretty much the same and are just eating space from your disk. I really love it! Totally worth every cent of its price.

I had been using Graphic Converter’s “Find Duplicates” feature to find duplicates (or similar) in my photo collection but I noticed many cases where it failed to find photos that visually were very similar. PhotoSweeper is far more effective at finding similar photos. (At least after I changed the preference setting to All Photos instead of just photos with the same aspect ratio.) And PhotoSweeper is amazingly fast and does’t use much memory while doing the comparison. I highly recommend it.

Simple elegant design. Best of all, it works. After going throught multiple similar software, I delete all the rest and kept this one.

This is such an awesome and easy to use aperture photo cleaner! I have just recovered over 25 gig of duplicate photo space from aperture library and I now have a full set of one off photo’s, helping me finally organise my library! Awesome and easy to use! Thanks.

This app moved duplicates to trash, but all other files disappeared completely. Gone. All 8000 pictures. I searched my entire HD, since i clicked “move marked to trash” all pictures I wanted to keep are gone and the marked are in the trash?! What the… I want my pictures back .. or at least the $10 that I paid!

While doing some file recovery I managed to give my self 12,000 duplicates in iPhoto. I tried 2 apps to filter through them and this one did the trick in relative short time. Very happy.

I am not able to try it, it crash few seconds after launch the program ! I am very surprised to see 60 « 5 stars » on 64 notes, for me I lost 12$ here :( I expect to see an update who will fixed that soon...

This app is wonderful - Powerful Quite easy to use Effective Integrates with iPhoto Works with tons of image and video formats It has cleared many GBs of duplicates from my hard drive and iPhoto library. Love it! Now if it would only sort through and delete all my crappy, out of focus, embarrassing photos that would be great. Maybe next version??

I’ve tried 2 apps (1 free and one paid) before this one! It works great! Spotted over 500mb of duplicates (around 250 images) other apps couldn’t. Get the trial from their website and see for yourself. Thank you guys! I hope you will keep updates rolling.

This is the only photo de-duplicator I have found which does what it says as well as it says. Customer support is equally fantastic. I never thought I would be able to get a handle on my collection after years and years of scattered duplicate backups across network drives and external hard drives, but thanks to PhotoSweeper, I have!

I’m incredibly impressed with this application! - One of the first de-duplicators to support OS X Photos - Great interface; very easy to use - Much MUCH faster than any other tool I’ve ever used (can’t stress this part enough) - User control is top notch (I especially like the “Matching Level” slider) This app is more expensive than some others, but when you consider the time it saves you, it’s easily worth it.

This app saved me hours during my transition from Aperture to Lightroom. It does a fantastic job of finding not only exact matches, but “similar” photos with incredible flexibility on what “similar” really means. That means you can find those dupes of different size, or even different formats (i.e. a TIFF left over from Nik + the original). It is rediculously fast for what it does. It beats the LR plug-ins due to the convenience of the comparison / review tools and the ability to then quickly accept or change the auto-markings (with great parameters for logic). I’d add a couple of things, like better ability to highlight bracketed shots as non-similar, but these are tiny gripes.

Highly recommended. Very intuitive way to pull in your photos, mark them and get the duplicates trashed. Lots of control as to matching as well.
